Let the Raptor Speak (Digital)

David Axe, over at Defense Tech (where else?), has this report on re-engineering the F-22A Raptor to transmit digital data as well as gather and receive it.

Seems under the current design, the pilot has to send information about what they're seeing that was gathered electronically using voice comm. The redesign will transmit that information digitally to other planes (and command, too?).
